Nairobi: British Institute in Eastern Africa, 1976. — 241 p. — (Memoir Nomber Six of the British Institute in Eastern Africa).
This book presents detailed reports on archaeological excavations conducted in eastern Zambia in 1966, 1970 and 1971, and on prehistoric sites visited but less intensively investigated during the same period. The data collected are used as the basis for a reconstruction of the prehistory of the region during the past forty thousand years. In later chapters this local succession is reviewed in the context of a re-evaluation of contemporaneous developments over a wide area of sub-Saharan Africa.
