The contributions of scholars from Europe, China, Taiwan and Japan collected in the volume illustrate the major trends in recent international research on Chiang Kai-shek, not only enriching the understanding of Chiang’s personality and life but also placing Chiang and his historical experience in the broader framework of China’s domestic and international context.
