Bulgarian e-Journal of Archaeology, vol. 11.1, 2021, 59-102.Abstract.Based on the current state of research, this work aims to present as complete as possible picture of the cult infrastructure during the Roman period in the Polomie region. The region covers the catchment area of the Rusenski Lom River (2946.9 square kilometers). The first part of the work presents the theoretical and methodological groundwork of the study, after which comprehensive analysis, systematization and reinterpretation of the available information about the sites in the river valleys of the Cherni and Malki Lom is offered.Keywords: roman period, Paganism, sanctuary, temple, cult place, Polomie region.
